Grant success for liver cancer research Dr Hadi Madinei, Aerospace Engineering, has been awarded a €237k Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship for his research proposal: ‘Design and Fabrication of a Novel Biomass Sensor’.
Working with Dr Saber Azizi, the project aims to develop a novel ultra-sensitive MEMS mass sensor capable of measuring masses in the order of femtogram. The proposed device will be tested for the detection of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), which is a biomarker for liver cancer.
The Fellowship supports the creative and innovative potential of postdoctoral researchers wishing to acquire new skills through advanced training, international, interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral mobility. |
