Discovering the tallest trees in the Amazon Dr Jackie Rosette , department of Geography, recently featured on a Radio Wales Science Café episode on Trees, where she discussed her discovery of the tallest trees in the Amazon.
Jackie first helped to discover the trees back in 2018 together with other members of the research expedition team.
These giant trees represent a new discovery, growing in excess of 80m tall which were not previously known to exist in the Amazon Forest. |

Swansea fellow joins first UK-wide Young Academy Dr Muhammad Naeem Anwar, department of Physics, is among the first members of the new UK Young Academy – a network of early career researchers and professionals established to help tackle local and global issues and promote meaningful change.
Muhammad is a theoretical particle physicist whose research focuses on the strong force that binds quarks and gluons to form hadrons. He is interested in hadrons which involve more complex and unusual combinations of quarks, called exotic hadrons.
Naeem is currently a Newton International Fellow of The Royal Society |
